I know what you mean about the stiffness of lupins, to my cost. We had absolutely torrential rain last night and it has knocked all the lupins totally flat. The heads are saturated and so heavy and the stems have just broken. They are ruined I'm afraid.
Glad Cerinthe is happy with you and that your pink Dicentra now has a chum !!Hoehoegrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00745640711509233722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249587176933768298.post-67799773711610475092014-05-22T13:17:21.969-07:002014-05-22T13:17:21.969-07:00Hi Jane, stunning photos, as if I needed any encou...Hi Jane, stunning photos, as if I needed any encouragement to put lots of alliums on my autumn bulb list! Your last sentance said it all, so many flowers, so little time. I've just ordered a white dicentra (why did they have to re-name it?!) to go with my pink, I love them, and am compiling a list of aquilegias to grow to add more colour. As for why it is the plants we hate that do best, I am reminded of the bright red tulips that insist on popping up in the most unlikely places and daring me to yank them out... I finally have cerinthe growing happily here, so hope it will gently seed itself around now, after all, the weeds do. Lupins? Too stiff for me, but I have rather fallen in love with the tree lupin I saw recently, so I may have to give that a go...Janet/Plantaliscioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15605580157193047780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249587176933768298.post-80568382229726466272014-05-22T03:09:02.104-07:002014-05-22T03:09:02.104-07:00Hi Tammy, don't know about you, but I have a s...Hi Tammy, don't know about you, but I have a soft spot for the thugs ! they are so bold !!
Cerinthe is such an interesting plant, and the flowers are definitely worth waiting for.
